This enables the sampling instrument, such as a TSI PortaCount Respirator Fit Tester, to measure the test agent concentration inside the respirator. Other requirements Quantitative fit testing requires the use of P100 particulate filters. 3M Particulate Filters are not included and must be purchased separately. The 3M Fit Test Adapter 601 is compatible with bayonet style filters including the 3M Particulate Filter 2091, P100 and 3M Particulate Filter 7093 Series, P100. OSHA fit testing requirements OSHA regulations require workers who need to wear a tight-fitting respirator to undergo a fit test prior to initial use of the respirator to determine adequacy of the respirator fit. Fit tests must also be conducted annually, or sooner if there is any change in a worker's physical condition that could affect the fit. Changes in physical condition include significant changes in body weight, facial surgery, or major dental work.
