Compare needle scalers, also called needle guns, for removing coatings, rust and weld slag during surface preparation. This collection includes electric and air-powered tools from Aargo, Novatek and Desco, along with needles, dust shrouds and replacement parts.

Choose electric or pneumatic

• Electric needle scalers: plug-in tools for work areas without compressed air. Aargo's electric kits are listed in 2 mm and 3 mm needle sizes and require 120 volts.
• Pneumatic needle scalers and air needle guns: pistol-grip, recoilless and straight tools. Check each listing for its compressed-air requirement.

Compare needle size and dust control

Kits are offered with or without a dust collection shroud, and Novatek VSE models use a vacuum shroud. A shroud does not by itself make a tool suitable for removing a hazardous coating such as lead paint. Follow your work plan, the applicable regulations and the manufacturer's instructions.
