Description

Diamabrush Mastic & Coating Removal Tool [12in - 20in]

This revolutionary tool provides the fastest, most effective removal of mastic, adhesives, thin-set and thin mil epoxies from concrete floors. The patented design of the Diamabrush™ Coating Removal tool prevents the abrasive from loading up or clogging like other abrasive products, delivering fast, consistent performance throughout the life of the tool.

The Diamabrush™ Coating Removal Tool is designed to quickly and effectively remove mastic, carpet or tile adhesive, thin-set, thin mil epoxies and other stubborn coatings from concrete floors. This diverse tool easily mounts to a wide range of floor machines and uses 10 replaceable diamond coated blades to deliver superior grinding performance. It is recommended to be used with water to eliminate dust and flush away debris while working.

A standard duty floor buffer/sander (200 RPM max) can be used with all Diamabrush™ removal and prep tools without running the risk of damage to your machine. The direction of rotation pulls the diamonds across the surface of the floor, eliminating the danger of catching on any expansion joint or crack in the concrete.

How to Order — Diamabrush Mastic & Coating Removal Tool (12"–20")

The Diamabrush Mastic & Coating Removal Tool is a professional solution for stripping mastics, glue and tough coatings from concrete with a standard floor buffer or autoscrubber. Follow the three simple steps below to choose the correct rotation direction, proper size, and the right clutch plate & riser so the tool mounts securely to your machine.

Quick Ordering Checklist

  • ✔ Rotation Direction: Clockwise or Counter‑Clockwise
  • ✔ Size: order 1" smaller than machine rating
  • ✔ Mounting: add the correct clutch plate + riser for your machine

How to Order

Choose Clockwise (CW) or Counter‑Clockwise (CCW) to match your machine’s rotation. If you’re unsure, briefly run the machine and observe the pad driver’s spin or check the owner’s manual/spec label. Choosing the correct direction is required for safe, effective operation.

For best edge clearance and performance, order a tool that is 1" smaller than your machine’s stated size.
Example: a 17" machine uses a 16" tool.

Machine Size (Rating) Recommended Tool Size
13" machine 12" tool
15" machine 14" tool
17" machine 16" tool
20" machine 19" tool

To mount the tool to your existing floor machine, add a compatible clutch plate and, if needed, a riser for clearance:

  • Clutch Plate: Most standard machines use a universal plate such as the NP‑9200 TRU‑FIT® (5" center hole). Some brands/models require brand‑specific plates—check your machine make/model.
  • Riser: A 1‑1/4" riser is often recommended to provide extra clearance for the tool and to reduce wobble and operator fatigue.
  • Spacer (optional): Certain setups benefit from a spacer for proper engagement. If your driver sits very low or contacts the deck, consider adding one.

How do I confirm rotation? Power on briefly and observe the driver from above: if it turns left, it’s CCW; if it turns right, it’s CW. You can also check your manual or spec tag.

Why 1" smaller? It prevents tool contact with the machine skirt, improves control near edges, and helps the tool track flat on the floor.

Do I always need a riser? Many machines benefit from a riser for added clearance; it also helps dampen vibration. If your driver sits high enough, you may not need one.

Still unsure? Tell us your machine brand/model and we’ll confirm the correct direction, size, clutch plate and riser before you order.
